Description About The PositionThe Supervisor Instrument & Control directs the work of skilled personnel in work tasks and/or support activities for the maintenance, replacement, installation and removal of equipment in the power plant and associated structures to assure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted operation.
Key Responsibilities Include- Responsible for the calibration, testing and corrective maintenance of instruments and controls at the Callaway Energy Center
- Supervise the activities if I&C technicians or assign technicians to work as directed by plant engineers or other specified personnel during normal and outage operations.
- Control measuring and test equipment at Callaway Energy Center as described in section 12 of the Callaway Energy Center Operating Quality Assurance Manual (OQAM).
- Supervise maintenance personnel in performance of predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance and related surveillance testing.
- Perform the planning, scheduling and assignment of work, and/or assist Planning & Scheduling department supervisors in work scheduling and coordination.
- Ensure safe and efficient use of manpower and resources, promoting high standards of workmanship, maintaining high level of equipment reliability and training of personnel in proper work practices.
- Ensure work activities are performed in accordance with applicable procedures and policies in an efficient manner.
- Ensure documentation of completed work activities is complete and accurate.
- Perform special studies and projects as assigned by Maintenance Department management.
- Assume Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties in accordance with Callaway Energy Center Radiological Emergency Response Plan (RERP) including responding to assigned ERO facilities within the required response time.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in instrumentation from an accredited institution preferred. Five or more years experience in Instrumentation and Controls required. Nuclear power plant Operations or I&C experience preferred. Experience as a Training Instructor preferred.
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:Good decision making, leadership, communication and human relations skills required. After preliminary review, selected applicants must take the First Line Supervisor Test and obtain a recommended status in order to be eligible for additional selection procedures (e.g., interview) designated for this position. Qualified candidates are required to establish and maintain their permanent residence within sixty highway miles of the Callaway Energy Center.
