We are seeking a dedicated Environmental Specialist with an emphasis in Air Emission Permitting to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science, engineering principles, regulatory compliance, and computer skills. This role involves reviewing projects associated with manufacturing processes, facility renovation, and new construction for environmental permits, emissions, and waste generation.
- Attend project development meetings to identify environmental impacts of the project.
- Document, prepare, and discuss environmental impacts with the Olin Winchester (OW) Environmental team to engage appropriate subject matter experts.
- Serve as the Environmental liaison and primary point of contact on projects among the M&I Group, US Army Corps of Engineers, Government Environmental, and OW Environmental.
- Track project progress and ensure identified environmental compliance milestones and notifications are made to regulatory agencies.
- Perform National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) assessments and prepare necessary NEPA documents and State Historic Preservation Office materials.
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Natural Resources, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of recent relevant environmental experience.
- Ability to develop in-depth knowledge of manufacturing facility operations and associated emissions and waste streams.
- Understanding of regulation review and interpretation with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, TEAMS, etc.).
- Willingness to be hands-on and perform in-field work, inspections, and reviews.
- Must possess a valid US Driver’s License.
- Successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with the U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
- Access to ITAR controlled technical data; employment contingent upon ability to access ITAR data pursuant to export license if required.
- Successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense policies.
- U.S. citizenship required due to site access restrictions at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant.
