Description:

Unit Information:
Inpatient Pharmacy covers the entire hospital.
The facility has 285 beds, all private rooms.
Approximately 50 team members including 30 pharmacists and 20 technicians.
Day Shift includes mostly decentralized pharmacists with two in Main Rx.
Evening Shift consists of two pharmacists in Main Rx and two to three technicians.
Night Shift has one pharmacist and two technicians.
Type of equipment used includes Dose Edge, Pyxis, Pak Edge and EMR - Meditech.

Typical hiring profile includes the following skills:
Candidates must have a degree from an accredited Pharmacy School.
Candidates must be licensed to practice Pharmacy in Missouri.
Candidates with ACLS/BLS certifications and NICU experience are preferred.

Typical procedures performed on the unit include:
Vancomycin dosing.
Aminoglycoside dosing.
Anticoagulant dosing.
Pain consultations.
Medication verification.
Supervising technicians in compounding sterile IVs.
Using Dose Edge to verify.
Checking Pyxis, first doses, and emergency medication boxes.

Dress Code:
Scrub color is not specified for the department.
