Location

This position will primarily support the Mizzou Pharmacy Call Center (located at QD) but may also float between all Mizzou Pharmacy locations in Columbia and Jefferson City, MO.

  • Base Pay Range:
    • $16.68 - $26.31/hour, based on experience
    • CERTIFIED $19.15 - $30.23/hour, based on experience
  • Shift Differentials:
    • Additional $1.25 per hour for Evening shift
    • Additional $1.50 per hour for Weekend shift
  • Sign-On Bonus:$1,500

ABOUT THE JOB

Join our dynamic Mizzou Pharmacy team as a full-time pharmacy technician, where your expertise will make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of our community! We are seeking a pharmacy technician call center agent to support multiple community pharmacy locations. In this role, you will assist patients and healthcare providers by answering incoming calls, helping with prescription refill requests, addressing customer inquiries, and providing exceptional customer service.

This position offers the opportunity to work closely with pharmacy teams across several locations and may include floating between pharmacies and assisting within-store pharmacy operations as needed. The ideal candidate is an experienced pharmacy technician that is customer-focused, adaptable, and committed to helping ensure a positive experience for every patient.

DETAILED

JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Prepare, dispense, and distribute medications.
  • Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and other pharmacy employees.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new personnel and assist in evaluating the progress of new employees.
  • Receive prescriptions, complete data entry of prescription orders in the pharmacy dispensing software, and adjudicate third-party insurance claims.
  • Prepare and label prescriptions consistent with state and federal labeling guidelines.
  • Conduct point-of-sale transactions that require proper cash handling, offer patient counseling, and comply with all out-window procedures for patient safety.
  • Answer telephones and handle calls that do not require the personal attention of a pharmacist.
  • Deliver quality customer service in all interactions with patients.
  • May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Must apply prior to hire for Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. This position is very active and may require ambulating, remaining in a stationary position and positioning self to reach and/or move objects above the shoulders and below the knees. The employee may frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 lbs and occasionally move objects up to 25 lbs.

This role may also routinely come into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses.
