The Pharmacy Intern is a student who works in apharmacyto gain hands-on experience. These individuals work under the supervision of licensedpharmacistsand hospital pharmacy managers to ensure that they are performing their job duties correctly. • Under direct supervision of a pharmacist, fills medication orders, prepares routine compounds and solutions (sterile and non-sterile), prepackages medications, stocks and maintains levels of supplies in assigned work area, prepares and files documents and other records, operates computer and answers telephone/window as needed.

• Performs duties of a pharmacist in accordance with rules and regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy.

• The amount and degree of autonomy progresses with each year of education.

• REQUIRED to be currently enrolled in an accredited School of Pharmacy.

• Pharmacy intern registration with the State Board of Pharmacy is required within 3 months of hire.

• (PHARM-Intern) Pharmacist - Intern, or (Pharm Tech) Pharmacy Technician License

• Neatness and Accuracy required.

• Six months of hospital pharmacy technician experience preferred.

• Word processing, interpersonal communication, time management.

• Typing, computer applications, compounding equipment
