Responsibilities
  • Supervise, plan, and manage inbound, outbound, product slotting, and customer communications daily, including labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment and manpower.
  • Conduct staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities, plan, and assure continuous improvement.
  • Keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues that affect operations.
  • Develop systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products safely and profitably in accordance with company policies, guidelines, and procedures. Manage operations to meet productivity and service goals and comply with site operating agreements.
  • Implement and report ongoing cost‑saving measures; provide ideas and suggestions for efficient operations.
  • Meet all client‑specified KPIs and comply with quality system requirements.
  • Apply sound communication and motivational techniques to fairly and equitably supervise, counsel, and, where needed, discipline team members; support HR; assist in creating hiring, training, and professional development programs; participate in performance evaluation to recommend promotions and wage increases.
  • Hold overall training and evaluation responsibilities for warehouse staff.
  • Plan the daily work schedule by reviewing existing work orders, arrival notices, and customer instructions; assess priorities based on time sensitivity and resources; assign duties to appropriate staff.
  • Review pending jobs or trends, plan for warehouse reorganization, and adjust supplies, equipment, or staffing levels as needed.
  • Train new staff in assigned duties or delegate training to experienced team members; assess trainee progress and add duties as appropriate.
  • Keep informed of quantity and quality of jobs performed throughout the day, providing guidance and advice as necessary.
  • Assign supervisory duties to experienced team members acting as leads for lower-level staff; monitor progress and issues.
  • Keep the manager advised of progress or problems that require attention on a daily basis; hold regular meetings with warehouse staff to assess status, discuss improvement ideas, and keep staff informed of developments.
  • Assist in physical operations as needed.
  • Deliver results by leveraging the skills of the right people at the right time.
  • Maintain high motivation in team members to focus on providing the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide ongoing growth and development opportunities for team members.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for team members and provide input.
  • Support adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and train team members in adherence to SOPs (corporate and client).
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three years of experience working in a logistics, distribution, or relevant environment.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience.
  • Preferred:
    Prior MHE certification or knowledge of basic MHE operation; satisfactory completion of forklift training program.
Computer Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with RF scanners and Warehouse Management System functions.
Language Skills
  • English (reading, writing, verbal).
  • Business communication skills.
Mathematical Skills
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency to verify product quantities, count inventory, or perform other related duties.

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to complete job tasks in a timely manner.
