**
* SUMMARY:

** The Refrigeration Lead Operator leads the refrigeration team responsible for repair and preventative maintenance of the facility refrigeration systems.  Assist with Boiler and steam system maintenance.
** ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
** include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Oversees work of assigned refrigeration team members.
* Assists with the planning and preparation of training and orientation for new refrigeration team members.
* Evaluates machinery, equipment, and facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
* Works with supervisor and/or manager to plan work priorities, obtain necessary supplies and assess skills needed to complete tasks.
* Collaborates with team members to discuss upcoming work assignments; delegates assignments based on team members skills and experience.
* Ensures refrigeration maintenance and repair work is completed safely, effectively and in a timely manner.
* Inspects work performed by team members.
* Tracks and logs materials and other resources used for inventory purposes.
* Works with supervisor to coordinate topics for safety meetings.
* Meet all Hazmat requirements.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
** SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
** This position will not have supervisory responsibility.
** EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**
* ** Required**  + High school or equivalent AND 6+ years of experience in Refrigeration, Maintenance, or similar skill set  + Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association (RETA) membership w/Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO).  + Ammonia Refrigeration (2 stage system)  + Able to pass and maintain state High Pressure Steam Boiler License  + Process Safety Management (PSM) understanding  + Valid Driver’s License  + Speaking, reading & writing in English
* ** Preferred**  + Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) certification  + Previous leadership experience
