Packaging Associate/Machine Operator – Independence, MO (Union)
Shift details:
- A Shift: 7:00 am-7:30 pm (Sun, Mon, Tues and every other Weds)
- B Shift: 7:00 am-7:30 pm (Thurs, Fri, Sat and every other Weds)
- C Shift: 7:00 pm-7:30 am (Sun, Mon, Tues and every other Weds)
- D Shift: 7:00 pm-7:30 am (Thurs, Fri, Sat and every other Weds)
Pay: $25.48 hourly with an additional $0.50 – $1.00 shift differential for C/D shifts.

What You’ll Do- Operate Bartelt, SN & Jones machine(s), including peripheral fillers, possibly operating two machines simultaneously.
- Maintain quality and quantity of pouches as set by Quality Assurance and Packaging Production Standards.
- Perform weight and quality checks every 15 minutes to 1 hour to ensure ingredient fills are maintained within standards.
- Check ingredient and total pouch weights; adjust controls as required to ensure adherence to standards.
- Clear jams on the machine as required.
- Perform certain mechanical adjustments on packaging lines.
- Retrieve packaging material from the forward pick area and load onto machine.
- Use computer to retrieve changeover information and settings.
- Report machine malfunctions (mechanical/electrical) to mechanic, electrician or supervisor.
- Update all related Line KPI information and graphs as required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent and continuous employment in a high‑speed manufacturing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read, write and understand English.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility to work off‑shift, including 12‑hour night/day shifts, overtime and weekends.
