Logistics & Process Technician
Position Overview
To undertake tasks associated with the manufacture of resins and hardeners. Operate chemical plant processes and perform monitoring tasks associated with site utilities.
Main Job Responsibilities (not an exhaustive list)
- Undertake physical materials movements, requisition materials from stock and monitor efficacy of inventory using SAP.
- Safe loading and offloading of tankers in accordance with legislation and site procedures.
- Manufacture and packing of resins and undertake ‘in process’ testing as directed.
- Monitor the status of the site utilities, troubleshoot and problem solve to support loss prevention culture.
- Provide support for the maintenance team and carry out tasks required to maximise plant up time.
- Be familiar with the in-house procedures regarding waste disposal and ensure compliance.
- Working knowledge of the ISO
14001 environmental management system. - Undertake any other reasonable duties, within the scope of the role and your capabilities, as required.
Local specific requirements for the role
- Maintain safe and clean work environment.
- Co-ordinate workload with the manufacturing team to optimise output, ensure product quality and to maintain the efficacy of the utilities systems.
- Establish priorities for loading/offloading and drumming or IBC.
- Establish priorities for despatch to ensure optimum output.
- Identify plant, process and utilities problems and react, report details in line with deviation procedures and support with decision making on course of remedial action.
- Perform simple mechanical troubleshooting where appropriate.
- Charge manual raw material additions to batch reactors.

Education & Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience as a chemical plant operator, or similar high hazard environment.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Units and elements of Process Operations NVQ Levels 3/2 or equivalent.
- Forklift truck operation.
