Engagement and Belonging Coordinator

Position Summary

The Engagement and Belonging Coordinator collaborates with key stakeholders to assist in coordinating activities, events, and trainings to promote a sense of belonging within the organization for all. The role creates inclusive practices throughout the Council for all girls, volunteers, staff, and members, providing oversight for diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, accessibility, and racial justice programming functions.

At Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri, most of our roles work in a hybrid capacity (in office, remote, and/or in the field). Details will be provided during the interview process.

The position is full time with a competitive minimum starting annual salary of $53,446.

Essential

Job Duties
  • Develop, coordinate, and execute programs and initiatives that advance cultural competency, identity development, diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and accessibility for Girl Scouts, volunteers, and staff.
  • Design and implement inclusive Girl Scout programming for Girl Scouts with autism and other accessibility needs, in collaboration with the Inclusion and Accommodations Specialist and other Council departments.
  • Co-lead affinity-based Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) by supporting the development of goals, programming, engagement opportunities, and resources that foster connection, belonging, and professional development among employees.
  • Serve as a collaborative thought partner and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging resource to Council departments, partnering to identify needs, address barriers, and provide guidance, resources, and recommendations that strengthen diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, accessibility, and racial justice goals across programs, initiatives, and operations.
  • Serve as an advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, accessibility, and racial justice among the Council, volunteers, and all girls.
  • Recognize and support all Heritage Month programming and work collaboratively with the Marketing Communications team.
  • Research best practices, leverage demographic data and survey results to identify equity gaps, inform programs, and adjust diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, accessibility, and racial justice goals.
  • Assist the Chief Engagement and Belonging Officer in establishing and maintaining relationships with community organizations.
  • Provide support to the Chief Engagement and Belonging Officer to ensure that the Council’s diversity, equity, and inclusion goals, objectives, and performance outcomes are effectively communicated to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a collaborative team member, working to advance the mission of Girl Scouts.
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience leading workplace training and development to support engagement and belonging initiatives.
  • Valid state driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a driving record that is acceptable to our insurance carrier.
