The Infection Control Nurse (IC Nurse) is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, coordinating, educating, and directing infection prevention and control programs in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Assist with policy and procedure development and implementation while maintaining CDC, OSHA, state, and local infection prevention and control regulations.
- Serve as the primary education resource for staff, residents, and visitors regarding infection control and infection prevention practices.
- Maintain written records of residents and employees with community‑acquired or healthcare‑associated infections.
- Complete medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, and other administrative duties as required.
- Provide direct nursing care as needed.
- Active, current, unencumbered RN or LPN license in the State of Missouri.
- IP/IC Certified.
- Two (2) years or more of clinical experience in a hospital, nursing facility, or related healthcare setting.
- Working knowledge of epidemiology, microbiology, infectious disease, aseptic technique, and standard/transmission‑based precautions.
