Outpatient Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse - Siteman Northwest

Overview

• Siteman Cancer Center
  - North St. Louis County
• 8‑hour shifts (7:30 am–5 pm)
• Float between locations:
  Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Peters, South County & West County
• Minimum 2 years RN experience; oncology experience ideal

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.

• Promotes patient and family-centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on illness or injury management, including post-treatment home care and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Participates in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individualized plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with interprofessional team and patient/family or caregiver.
• Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
• Maintains safety-sensitive performance as required by BJC.
