Family Nurse Practitioner/Women's Health Nurse Practitioner

Missouri Highlands Community Health Center

Practice Overview:

Missouri Highlands Community Health Center is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) for a 12-week assignment with the potential for extension. This opportunity will support a brand-new mobile health initiative designed to provide women's health and primary care services to underserved communities throughout Southeast Missouri.

The mobile unit will serve patients in areas identified as "maternal health deserts," where access to women's healthcare services is limited.

Missouri Highlands Community Health Center

Mobile Unit Coverage Area:

The mobile unit will serve communities throughout:

• Butler County
• Ripley County
• Carter County
• Wayne County
• Poplar Bluff and surrounding areas

Providers will report directly to the designated location each day. Travel with or operation of the mobile unit is not required.

Mobile Unit Features:

• Brand-new 38-foot mobile clinic
• Two exam rooms
• Onsite laboratory
• Restroom facilities

Provider Requirements:

• Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP)
• Preferred: 3+ years of experience
• Candidates with less experience may be considered if they possess relevant women's health and primary care skills
• Active Medicaid and Medicare enrollment required

Assignment Details:

• July 1, 2026 – October 1, 2026
• 12-week assignment with potential to extend
• Start date dependent upon credentialing completion

Credentialing Timeframe:

• Approximately 60+ days, depending on experience and background review

Training Requirement:

Per Missouri state requirements, the provider must complete a 30-day onsite training period at Missouri Highlands Community Health Center with the collaborating physician before independently working on the mobile unit.

Schedule:

• Monday–Friday
• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Flexibility to work alternative hours with advance notice
• Potential for 1–2 Saturdays per month
• No call required

Patient Population:

• Ages 14 through 65+
• Patient volume is currently undetermined, as this is a new pilot program

Scope of Practice:

Providers will perform:

• Primary care services
• Women's health services
• PAP smears
• Biometric screenings
• Chronic disease management
• Preventive care and wellness visits

Support Staff:

• 1 Medical Assistant (additional MA support may be added as patient volume increases)
• 1 Patient Service Representative / Community Engagement Coordinator
