Description
The Bakery Manager‑In‑Training is a dynamic role designed to cultivate future bakery leaders. This position focuses on developing a comprehensive understanding of bakery operations, encompassing retail operations, inventory control, and team leadership. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in customer service, retail sales, and a commitment to ethical standards and conduct. This role will provide hands‑on experience in all aspects of bakery management, including merchandising, loss prevention, and problem‑solving, while fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
This position requires candidates to be able to travel to other stores for training. This is a Full Time, Hourly position offering an excellent benefits package. Must be open to any shifts including holidays and weekends.
- Oversee daily bakery operations, ensuring adherence to company standards and procedures.
- Assist in the training and coaching of bakery staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, receiving, and stocking of products, demonstrating a detail‑oriented approach.
- Implement merchandising strategies to maximize sales and enhance the customer experience.
- Provide exceptional customer service, resolving customer issues and building relationships.
- Participate in loss prevention efforts, safeguarding company assets and minimizing shrinkage.
- Assist in planning and task management, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities by motivating and guiding team members.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding operational updates and performance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- General knowledge of retail operations and retail sales.
- Working knowledge of inventory control principles.
- Demonstrated ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a bakery or food service environment.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
