Starting pay range per hour: $22.00 - $24.00. Full pay range per hour: $22.00 - $37.40.
Pay is based on several factors that vary by position, including labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. All About Specialty SalesA team of specialized consultants who understand what it means to meet guests where they are and deliver through strong operations, incredible guest experience, and compelling visual merchandising presentations. Teams in Apparel and Accessories (A&A), Home, Baby, Beauty and Electronics prioritize guest experience while completing tasks that keep products available and easy to shop – pulling, filling, pricing, setting, staging, and maintaining the sales floor and backroom.
SpecialtySales Team Leader – Skills and Experience
- Guest service fundamentals and creating a guest‑first culture.
- Retail business fundamentals: department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing, and promotion strategies.
- Planning unit(s) daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver sales goals.
- Leading multiple businesses while balancing team member expertise and leading teams in each department.
- Leading a team of hourly team members: interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating, and retaining talent.
- Consistently deliver guest experience commitments to create an easy, inspiring, and friendly experience.
- Ensure every team member is trained and consistently delivers on Target’s guest experience commitments and operations.
- Actively observe, provide feedback, hold team members accountable, and recognize great guest experience moments.
- Review area guest, financial, and team outcome metrics to identify opportunities, take action to improve, and align the team on the right behaviors and execution.
- Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes guest experience and model, train, and coach expectations.
- Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creating equitable experiences.
- Plan daily/weekly workload at the direction of your direct leader and execute to meet department and store sales goals and guest engagement.
- Lead a culture of executing all best practices with onboarding, learning, and skill gaps.
- Develop, coach, and lead a team of consultants who are passionate.
- Assign daily tasks to team members based on planned workload and guest traffic patterns.
- Encourage use of tools available in the department to provide personalized recommendations.
- Partner with third‑party vendors to ensure brand standards and merchandising are met.
- Support team execution of changes and updates to merchandise sets and visual presentations.
- Create inspiring visual moments by ensuring product is organized, signed correctly, and merchandised to support seasonal trends.
- Support your direct leader in leading assigned department area backroom processes, organization, layout, and replenishment.
- Participate in team hiring and onboarding processes.
- Determine priorities for the guest experience, ensuring fitting rooms are welcoming, clean, and safe.
- Establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
- Model and support a safety culture, identify hazards, and assist with incident response.
- Model the execution of physical security processes.
- Support merchandise protection strategies across the store.
- If applicable, follow all safe and secure training and processes.
