Job Description:
Performs complex duties involving the installation and maintenance of overhead or underground power distribution lines used to conduct electrical energy between generating stations, substations, and consumers. Installs overhead equipment such as poles, crossarms, insulators, arrestors, switches and transformers, and underground equipment such as primary wires, vaults, pad mounted transformers, etc. Splices and insulates conductors and related wiring to join sections of power lines during repairs;
interprets blueprints of line locations specifications, and procedure books. Performs related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Status as a Journeyman Lineman.
- Must possess a valid class "A" Commercial Driver's License.
- Must complete required NIMS level training within first six months of hire.
- Ability to climb poles and navigate all types of terrain.
- Ability to bend and lift equipment, tools, etc. weighing 50 to 100 lbs.
- Ability to work at heights of 25 ft. and above.
- Hand dexterity to operate job related equipment.
- Speech communication, vision and hearing sufficient to communicate with other workers, customers, and property owners.
- Work is performed outdoors 95% of the time, 5% performed in a warehouse, dock, or office setting.
- Exposure to outdoor conditions of extreme heat and cold and adverse weather conditions.
- May be required to remain on call 24 hours daily during emergency conditions.

CompensationOpportunity is available to earn quarterly retention bonus of up to $2,500 for eligible non-probationary employees who meet the requirements as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
