Maintenance Technician - Labor, Industrial Cleaning & Maintenance

Compensation starting at $20 for Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician performs physical, hands‑on work cleaning and servicing commercial kitchen exhaust systems, including hoods and exhaust fans. This role requires comfort working at heights, including climbing extension ladders and accessing rooftops at heights of 24 feet or more.

Candidates must be physically capable of performing strenuous work and willing to obtain a Class E driver’s license to operate a company vehicle.

Position Summary

The Grease Masters Maintenance Tech (Industrial Cleaning & Exhaust Systems) is a field‑based technician role responsible for the cleaning, maintenance, and servicing of commercial kitchen exhaust systems, grease containment systems, and related equipment. The position performs physically demanding industrial cleaning work at customer locations and operates specialized equipment to ensure systems are cleaned safely, thoroughly, and in compliance with applicable standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance of commercial kitchen exhaust systems, including hoods, ducts, fans, filters, and associated components.
  • Clean grease traps, interceptors, and grease‑contaminated surfaces using pressure washing equipment, degreasers, and manual tools.
  • Manually remove heavy grease buildup using scrapers and mechanical equipment when required.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain pressure washing systems, tools, and safety equipment.
  • Prepare work trucks and equipment prior to job execution and properly secure equipment after service.
  • Perform work in varied environments including rooftops, ladders, confined spaces, and indoor/outdoor customer locations.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and job‑specific instructions to ensure safe operations at all times.
  • Maintain professional conduct while working at customer sites and represent the company appropriately.
  • Accurately follow work orders, instructions, and direction from supervisors and crew leads.
  • Complete other duties as assigned to support operational needs.
  • Field‑based role performing work at commercial and industrial customer locations.
  • Work may be performed indoors, outdoors, at elevated heights, and in confined or restricted spaces.
  • Exposure to grease, wastewater, cleaning chemicals, weather conditions, and industrial equipment is expected.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to approximately 50–55 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders, access rooftops, and work at elevated heights.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in tight or confined spaces.
  • Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and vehicles associated with industrial cleaning services.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to operate company vehicles in accordance with company policies.
  • Ability to pass required background screening and drug testing.
  • Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and established processes.
  • Dependable attendance and reliability are essential.
  • Prior experience in industrial cleaning, commercial services, or maintenance environments is preferred but not required; training is provided.
