Responsibilities
Assist residents with loading and unloading from facility-approved vehicles, ensure safe transportation to scheduled medical appointments or other approved activities, maintain vehicle interior and exterior for safe and comfortable transport and positive image, monitor vehicle maintenance logs and deliver vehicle for scheduled maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Must be flexible with work time (in case a resident appointment or activity runs late).
- Demonstrate safe clinical-based transfer techniques for:
- Ingress and egress of mobile patients with van transfer.
- Transfer of patients into and out of wheelchairs.
- Properly securing wheelchair-bound residents into bays in vans.
- Lift and mobilize patient weights of up to 70 pounds by self in confined areas inside van.
- Make complex decisions involving highly dependent patient base.
Supervisory Requirements:
This position has no supervisor responsibilities.
Education and/or
Experience:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or a GED.
- Minimum age of 25 years.
- Valid driver's license.
- Familiar with GPS and local driving area.
- No traffic crimes in the last 7 years (DUI, DWS, reckless driving, traffic felonies, multiple DUI/DWS, leaving scene with injuries, assault with vehicle).
- No more than 2 moving violations in 3 years.
- No more than one accident in 3 years.
- Pass a drug screen and background check.
Language
Skills:
Ability to read, write and understand job-related instructions and manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, and residents.
Mathematical
Skills:
Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Solve practical problems and interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Proficient in Microsoft Suite products; completed CNA training and maintain all CE for certification.
Physical Demands:
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds; regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, read, or hear.
Work Environment:
Noise level low to moderate.
