Job Summary

The Inventory Control Associate is responsible for operating MHEs for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting. Computer data entry is required for receipts, shipments, and inventory maintenance. The Inventory Associate assists the supervisor/manager in ensuring the facility is in compliance with quality standards and assists in maintaining company safety, performance, and quality objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate warehouse inventory
  • Direct customer interface to answer questions and resolve issues
  • Return material coming from customer to factory
  • Transfer material to the appropriate area
  • Relocate material to keep and maintain inventory range and locations
  • Safe use of all equipment
  • Function autonomously, reporting progress and issues to supervisor/management
  • Follow company policies, guidelines, and procedures
  • Maintain appropriate records and reports to ensure inventory control and security; conduct physical inventory as required; assist in daily/monthly in‑house cycle counts and help locate missing items throughout the facility
  • Perform safety audits per operation requirements; report and correct any unsafe operations
  • Participate in daily start‑up and staff meetings as required; assist supervision as needed
  • Use PC skills for e‑mail and generating reports as required
  • Initiate action to prevent non‑conformities, identify problems and recommend solutions through designated channels, and verify implementation of solutions
  • Review/investigate inbound and outbound issues including unloading, checking, orderly stacking, storing, order pulling, staging, labeling, and loading; ship material to the factory per client requests and notify management when procedures require updates
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area; perform housekeeping audits per operation requirements
Other Duties (Site Specific)
  • Assist leadership as needed
  • Work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, as required by the operation; participate in cross‑training matrix activities to broaden knowledge and act as a backup associate when needed
  • Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance
  • All associates are responsible for executing all safety protocols and accomplishing all job tasks in a manner that promotes safety
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility; assist in the security of the warehouse
  • Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site‑specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards
Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 6 months of experience working in logistics, distribution, or a related environment
  • Ability to operate MHE
  • Comfortable working in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during warmer and colder months (mild to moderate)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Basic computer skills, RF scanners, WMS functions
  • Basic to intermediate math skills for verifying quantities, counting inventory, or other handling duties
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Capacity to perform duties with minimal supervision
  • Ability to adapt to change and thrive in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in an inventory department
  • 1–3 years of forklift experience
  • Current or prior MHE certification
Physical Demands

Hand & finger manipulation, sitting, handling product and/or packaging materials

Work Environment
