Middle School Cross Country Head Coach

Independence Local Schools in Cuyahoga County is seeking a Head Cross Country Coach for Independence Middle School. Previous coaching experience is preferred but not required. Must be organized, hard-working, and demonstrate a strong desire to help build the middle school cross country program. The Middle School Head Cross Country Coach will help oversee all phases of the cross country program, including runner development, youth involvement, and program culture.

The successful candidate will provide leadership to the team that consistently achieves academic and athletic success. The candidate will help monitor academic progress, develop training programs that are safe and effective for student-athletes, and schedule meets and practices in accordance with school policies.

Employment is pursuant upon appropriate background checks and the obtainment of proper CPR, Fundamentals of Coaching, Concussion Management Training, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, and Pupil Activity Supervision Licensure from the Ohio Department of Education.
