Job SummaryLooking for an experienced electrical engineer to design, develop and test industrial rotary encoders to bring to market. This includes circuit design, fixture design, project planning, creating budgets, coordination of creating prototypes, validation testing, certification compliance, BOM creation, report writing, production/manufacturing support and troubleshooting of legacy products. This position will regularly interact with mechanical engineers and other electrical engineers to package sensitive electronics and magnetic components for use in harsh environments.
Sound electrical design is a must.
Principal Job Responsibilities
- Lead role in new product development of rotary encoders to meet CE, UL and ATEX requirements.
- Circuit design and simulation
- Specifying electronic components for new products or to replace obsolete components
- Validation testing and documentation including FMEA and assisting with PFMEA
- Creating work instructions
- Production support
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education and Qualifications
- BSEE or MSEE
Experience
- 10-15 years of experience in circuit design and new product development including:
- Digital, analog, microprocessor, ASIC PCB design, EMI (Immunity and Emissions), Magnetics, diagnostics, communication busses and protocols (RS-232, RS-485, I2C, SPI, CAN, etc.) conformal coatings
- Hands-on troubleshooting and debugging of new and legacy products
- Experience with electric motors and designing motor controls
- Real-time programming in Embedded C
- Experience with Stage Gate project management
- Experienced in industrial automation

- Less than 5% Travel required.
