Asset Locator - Skip Tracer

The Asset Locator is responsible tracing and locating consumers and/or consumers' attachable assets in compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (F.D.C.P.A.).

This open position would join a team of six (6) with an average of 20 years of service with the firm.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:

• Traces whereabouts of consumers with the intention of finding a current address, utilizing both printed and on-line resources. Once a new address is located the Asset Locator requests the reissue of complaint
• Locates and verifies employment/property ownership, requests property liens and wage garnishments as applicable
• Locates/verifies bank accounts and requests bank attachments
• When there are no attachable assets the asset locator reviews the credit bureau trade lines to identify the creditor that a Subpoena for documentation should be sent to
• Meets pre-determined monthly quotas, specific quality and volume requirements for designated activities.
• Analyzes issues, makes decisions and follows up with peers and management
• Builds appropriate rapport and establishes and maintains effective relationships with internal and external clients, gaining their trust and respect
• Telephones possible consumer phone leads to verify right party and may transfer to Legal Account Resolution Specialists
• Ensures accounts are updated with new information as it is obtained
• Complete all required training applicable to this position
• Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position
• Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum
• 0-6 months relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Knowledge of office practices and procedures; computer operation; and internet research.
• Ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.

Compensation and Benefits:

• The expected compensation is $17.22 hr.
  
  - $20.50 hr., based upon experience.

Close visual acuity is needed to read, analyze data, and view a computer terminal for extended periods.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a professional office environment. It is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee will experience low to moderate noise levels and moderate interruptions. The workspace is well-lit and climate controlled.
