Data Engineer
Position Purpose
The Data Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization’s hybrid data infrastructure across on‑premises and cloud environments and ensuring that it supports the strategic goals and objectives of the organization. This role ensures that data pipelines, storage systems, and analytics platforms operate efficiently, securely, and at scale.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Design, configure, and maintain hybrid data environments (e.g., SQL Server, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Power BI Service).
- Implement and manage Azure services such as Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines, Storage Accounts, and Key Vault.
- Collaborate with the Database Administrator (DBA) and Senior Data Engineer to optimize performance and resource allocation.
- Monitor system health using Azure Monitor, SQL Agent, or third‑party tools.
- Proactively identify and resolve data bottlenecks and infrastructure issues.
- Enforce data access controls, encryption, and authentication policies.
- Integrate cloud and on‑prem security models using Azure AD and RBAC.
- Develop and maintain efficient data pipelines using ETL/ELT methodologies and best‑practice dimensional and relational modeling techniques.
- Leverage Dev Ops principles and tools to automate the deployment, scaling, and monitoring of all core data platform infrastructure and services.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex data integration and performance challenges across the data platform to maintain stability and accuracy.
- Complete all required training applicable to this position.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- 6+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Proven work experience as an ETL Developer, Data Engineer.
- Proficiency in Azure Data Services (Data Factory, Synapse, Storage, Functions, Key Vault, Monitor).
- Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, and Windows Server administration.
- Working knowledge of data warehousing, data lake architectures, data modeling and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with scripting (Power Shell, Python, T‑SQL).
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Knowledge of network and infrastructure methodologies.
- The expected pay range for this position is $76,523.20–$99,444.80/year.

The employee will experience low to moderate noise levels and moderate interruptions. The workspace is well‑lit and climate controlled.
