Our Vision for this Role
The Technology Depot Technician will be responsible for shipping/receiving, parts and area cleaning, stocking, and partial inventory management of technology related devices. The role has a heavy emphasis on restaurant point‑of‑sale (POS) equipment. This is an entry‑level position with on‑the‑job training; experience is a plus but not required.
The Depot Technician will work alongside a team dedicated to warehousing, repair, shipping/receiving, staging, deployment, and procurement to support Flynn Group staff and subsidiaries. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate inventory, utilizing tracking software (CG4, Fed Ex Ship Manager, UPS World Ship, Service
NOW), and managing all aspects of delivery and return of goods in need of repair. The Technician will also learn and adhere to processes for equipment managed by other departments.
- Clean the used Dell XE3 PC
- Ensure that 16 GB of RAM is installed
- Install a power splitter for two SATA drive connections
- Ensure that two SATA cables are installed
- Install a dual 3.5” to 2.5” drive adapter
- Remove existing CMOS battery and install a new one
- Power on the device and adjust BIOS settings
- Set the BIOS time/date
- Ensure that boot type is set to AHCI
- Ensure that Secure Boot is set to active
- Ensure that system information shows 16GB of active RAM
- Ship the PC to the store
- Properly package and seal the PC in a box
- Print and affix a Fed Ex label to the box
- Update the Service Now task with tracking information and close the task
- Update the Smartsheet page line‑item with tracking information
- College‑degree is a plus, as is 1–3 years of experience in IT or a related field.
- Great customer‑service, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Typing speed of 40 words per minute.
- Ability to lift, carry, and place equipment up to 50 pounds.
