Hourly rate for this position at Scotts/Hawthorne generally falls between $29.45 - $39.85 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. The position is a 2nd shift Production Foreman located in Independence, OR.

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise work activities of five or more personnel, including temporary agency workers, engaged in production, equipment repair, warehouse work and truck loading.
• Implement and monitor management programs related to safety, employee relations, production efficiencies, and inventory control.
• Communicate job expectations, plan, monitor, and appraise job results, coach, counsel, and recommend discipline when necessary.
• Maintain workflow by monitoring process steps, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, studying methods, and implementing cost reductions.
• Initiate, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and procedures; foster cooperation within and between departments.
• Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results on shift production summaries.
• Ensure equipment operation by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of control points, equipment, and resources and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending personal networking and benchmarking state‑of‑the‑art practices.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Three to five years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Experience supervising and coaching teams.
• Experience managing processes and process improvement.
• Ability to ensure housekeeping standards are maintained.
• Basic arithmetic skills: add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English. Spanish fluency is a plus.
