Production Laborer - First Shift
Location:
Independence, OR
Pay: $18.50 per hour
Shift: First Shift
Employment Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Production Laborer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of organic materials through shaker systems, maintaining production equipment, performing housekeeping duties, and supporting overall plant operations. The ideal candidate is motivated, able to work in various environmental conditions, and committed to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and maintain the flow of organic materials through shaker systems.
- Break up material to prevent bridging and ensure continuous production flow.
- Communicate with heavy equipment operators regarding material replenishment needs.
- Maintain finishing screens by scraping and clearing material buildup.
- Perform housekeeping duties, including:
- Scraping
- Sweeping
- Shoveling
- Stacking bags
- Cleaning conveyors, walkways, aisles, and catwalks
- Assist with small bag line operations as needed.
- Restack pallets and support general cleanup activities.
- Meet established production quality and quantity standards.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance concerns to maintenance personnel.
- Support other operational tasks as assigned by the Foreman.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to climb ladders and remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Ability to work safely in dusty environments and varying weather conditions, including hot, cold, and rainy conditions.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Experience with electrical troubleshooting.
- Mechanical repair experience.
- Hydraulic and pneumatic systems repair experience.
- Previous manufacturing, production, or industrial experience.
- Strong attention to safety and operational procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Dependable work ethic and attendance.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in an industrial environment.
- Competitive starting pay of $18.50 per hour
