DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Advises students and other passengers of appropriate behavior.
• Assesses incidents, complaints, accidents and/or potential emergency situations.
• Assists students and other passengers loading and unloading from buses in both emergency and normal transportation.
• Cleans assigned vehicles, both interior and exterior.
• Conducts emergency evacuation drills.
• Drives school bus/s.
• Fuels assigned vehicle.
• Informs other school personnel, parents, etc. of events and/or practices.
• Performs pre and post trip inspections to ensure safety of the bus.
• Prepares documents and reports.
• Reports observations and/or incidents according to policies and procedures.
• Responds to inquiries from students, parents, other school personnel, etc.
• Supervises students and other passengers during transit.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

• High School Diploma
• Knowledge of state and District transportation policy and procedures
• Knowledge of safety practices and emergency evacuation procedures as related to transportation.
• Ability to consistently lift 40 pounds.
• Ability to obtain Bus Driver’s License and CDL
• Clearance of a pre-employment drug screening.
• Clearance of a pre-employment physical
• Clearance of Criminal Justice Fingerprint and a Background check.
• Ability to obtain CPR/First aid Certification.
• Ability to pass physical capacity test.
