Growing organization seeking an experienced Payroll Operations Specialist to support multi‑state payroll processing, employee payroll administration, tax reporting, and payroll record management in a fast‑paced corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities- Process payroll for multiple business units and employee groups in accordance with established schedules.
- Maintain employee payroll records, including new hire setup, payroll updates, and direct deposit changes.
- Review and audit payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Support payroll tax administration, reporting, and related documentation processes.
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliation documentation, and audit support materials.
- Process payroll adjustments including deductions, garnishments, reimbursements, and special payments.
- Assist with timekeeping review and payroll approval processes.
- Respond to employee and management inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and payment‑related questions.
- Maintain confidentiality of payroll records and sensitive employee information.
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve payroll discrepancies and improve payroll workflows.
- Support year‑end payroll activities and reporting requirements.
- Perform additional payroll and administrative duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of payroll processing experience in a multi‑state and/or multi‑entity environment.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, payroll tax regulations, and payroll compliance practices.
- Experience working with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and data accuracy skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience processing payroll adjustments, deductions, and employee record updates.
- Preferred: CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification preferred.

Experience supporting high‑volume payroll environments. - Preferred:
Familiarity with payroll tax filings, garnishments, and multi‑state payroll regulations. - Preferred:
Previous experience collaborating closely with Human Resources and Accounting teams. - Preferred:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field.
