The City of Fairview is seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk I to join the Finance Department. Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Clerk I performs routine to moderately complex clerical and accounting duties related to utility billing, customer accounts, cash receipting, and general office support. This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and high-quality customer service.

• Process utility billing, payments, adjustments, and delinquency notices
• Maintain customer accounts; research and resolve billing discrepancies
• Receive, receipt, balance, and deposit daily payments
• Run routine reports and identify irregularities
• Provide front-counter, phone, and general clerical support

• Basic accounting and mathematical skills
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to use standard office and accounting software

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two (2) years of clerical experience involving public contact and exposure to utility billing, or related accounting functions
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
