This is a full-time role at Collaborative Composite Solutions Corporation, which operates on a hybrid schedule, primarily remote but with 10% in-office presence near Knoxville, TN. The company manages IACMI - The Composites Institute, a leading national collaborative partner dedicated to advancing composite design, manufacturing, and workforce solutions. This Staff Accountant position is integral to supporting the core accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and contributing to the operational efficiency of the organization’s public-private partnership.
The successful candidate will contribute to a public-private partnership within a complex, project-based environment.

- Team:
Reports to the Corporate Financial Controller, works closely with CCS headquarters functional area teams. - Mission:
Owns the execution of daily accounting processes, month-end reconciliations, and client billing to support the financial operations of the organization. - Tech Stack:
Microsoft Office, MS Excel, Asana
- Accounting Processes:
Process daily accounting transactions for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash receipts, supporting payroll and client billing. - Client Billing:
Prepare and submit comprehensive monthly client billings, including all required supporting documents. - Month-End
Activities:
Execute various month-end accounting processes and conduct detailed account reconciliations. - Team
Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with the accounting team to meet month-end closing deadlines, tracking assigned tasks in Asana. - Process Improvement:
Suggest improvements for existing accounting workflows and processes after thorough review.
- Background:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent professional work experience. - Experience:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel functions, coupled with demonstrated experience in a remote, paperless work setting. Ability to quickly learn and understand complex general ledger coding and project account structures. - Skills:
Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to manage tasks independently and balance multiple activities with competing deadlines. - Bonus:
Prior experience with accounting for government contractors.
