Contract Term: Through December 31, 2026 with potential to become permanent
Location: Wolf Park, Battle Ground, IN
Reports to: Executive Director
Position Type: Part-Time Hourly (Contract)
Pay Rate: $15/hr

Job Overview

The Part-Time Bookkeeper supports Wolf Park’s financial operations by maintaining accurate financial records, processing routine accounting tasks, and assisting with organizational reporting and compliance needs. This role works closely with the Executive Director and leadership team to ensure timely and organized financial management in support of Wolf Park’s mission, programs, and daily operations.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable working independently while managing sensitive financial information in a nonprofit environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping systems for organizational operations.
  • Record and categorize financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank deposits.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records on a regular basis.
  • Process invoices, reimbursements, and payments in a timely and organized manner.
  • Assist with payroll preparation and payroll documentation coordination.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical financial records and files.
Reporting & Budget Support
  • Prepare routine financial reports for the Executive Director and leadership team.
  • Assist with budget tracking and expense monitoring across departments and programs.
  • Support the preparation of financial documentation for audits, grant reporting, and board reporting.
  • Help identify discrepancies or inconsistencies in financial records and assist with corrective actions as needed.
Administrative & Operational Support
  • Coordinate with department managers regarding purchases, reimbursements, and financial documentation.
  • Support donation tracking and financial recordkeeping related to fundraising and development efforts.
  • Assist with maintaining vendor records, payment schedules, and tax documentation.
  • Help ensure organizational compliance with applicable financial procedures and recordkeeping standards.
Collaboration & Organizational Support
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with staff, vendors, donors, and external partners regarding financial matters.
  • Work collaboratively with leadership to support operational and organizational goals.
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and organizational initiatives as appropriate.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in bookkeeping, accounting support, or financial administration.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
  • Experience using accounting software such as Quick Books Online (preferred) or similar financial management systems.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities independently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive financial information appropriately.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit environment is preferred but not required.
Working Conditions

This is a part‑time position with flexible scheduling based on organizational needs and business hours. The role primarily involves desk‑based administrative and financial work in an office environment, with occasional participation in meetings or organizational events. Candidates should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a mission‑driven nonprofit setting.
