Position: Clinical Secretary - Imaging Department - Full Time

Job Details

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In this role you will be:

  • Schedule diagnostic imaging examinations according to physician orders, departmental protocols, and patient needs.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and required authorization or referral information.
  • Register and check in patients for imaging appointments.
  • Provide patients with appointment information, preparation instructions, arrival times, and other necessary details.
  • Answer patient questions regarding scheduling, preparation, and general imaging department procedures.
  • Coordinate rescheduling and cancellations while maintaining efficient use of imaging resources.
  • Assist with arranging transportation or other services when applicable.
  • Assist with maintaining smooth patient flow throughout the Imaging Department.
  • Coordinate with Emergency Department, inpatient units, surgery, nursing, registration, and other hospital departments.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent required; additional qualifications in office administration preferred
  • Experience:

    Proven experience as an administrative assistant or in a similar role.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
