Position Overview

The Material Services employee performs essential warehouse functions including the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, supplies, and tooling. This role involves expediting deliveries through efficient paperwork processing, inspecting incoming materials for quality and damage, and managing outgoing shipments. The employee operates fork trucks and overhead cranes safely, maintains organized storage, and ensures inventory accuracy through data input and reordering supplies.

Additionally, they uphold safety standards by monitoring handling equipment, manage waste removal, and serve as a backup for mail delivery. These diverse responsibilities are vital for the smooth operation and efficiency of warehouse activities.

Your Day to Day as a Material Services Employee
  • Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, supplies, and tooling within the warehouse complying with the APL and CPL (approved product list/controlled product list) procedures.
  • May work as a tool crib attendant.
  • Expedite deliveries by processing necessary paperwork and inspecting incoming materials for quality and damage.
  • Manage outgoing shipments and ensure safe operation of fork trucks.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through SAP and establish reorder points for supplies.
  • Monitor handling equipment for safety compliance and assist in waste removal and contaminated waste management.
  • Building and repairing air and gas hoses.
  • Serve as a backup for mail delivery and perform other miscellaneous duties as required.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of experience in related field.
  • Proven experience in accurately entering data into computer systems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with multiple team members.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
Preferred Qualifications
  • SAP or similar inventory systems experience.
  • Understanding of inventory control principles.
