Job Skills / RequirementsThe Area Manager is responsible for ensuring quality assurance and adherence to company standards through effective management and development of field employees at assigned accounts. This individual will also oversee scheduling to ensure proper staffing levels and uphold the company’s standards of professionalism. The Area Manager is expected to fulfill B&T’s purpose statement: “To improve the lives of our team members and the communities we serve.”
Position Is 2nd Shift. Pay Is Based On Experience.
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT- Ensure that every account is cleaned according to the contracted schedule.
- Follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for performing quality review reports.
- Maintain accurate account documentation.
- Implement the SOP for initial account set‑up, including contact sheet, Scope of Work (SOW), supply list, and follow‑up visits.
- Manage budget and expenses to meet profit goals.
- Ensure a safe work environment at each account.
- Complete and pass CSS training provided by BSCAI within the first 30 days of hire.
- Train custodial staff to perform their duties effectively, efficiently, and safely, in line with the B&T Training Program.
- Conduct employee reviews and execute necessary actions to ensure quality work performance.
- Conduct interviews, recommend hires to HR, and terminate employees as needed.
- Ensure adherence to safety guidelines at each account.
- Maintain equipment at accounts.
- Ensure janitor closets are clean, organized, and stocked with supplies and rags.
- Ensure accounts receive "good" to "excellent" scores on Quality Control assessments, demonstrating a commitment to quality.
- Adhere to and meet set goals (i.e. number of QC’s, employee visits, etc.) based on the account star level.
- Resolve account issues in a timely manner to minimize client complaints.
- Monitor and meet account budgets for personnel, equipment, and supplies.
- Foster a culture of teamwork within the department.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently.
- Possess the physical abilities to perform custodial duties as necessary.
- Engage in effective verbal and written communication.
- The work environment may include various customer locations, requiring local travel.
- This position requires flexibility with hours, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to balance multiple tasks.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Experience:
Prior supervisor or management experience preferred. - Current and valid driver’s license.
- Ability to identify and prioritize operational issues and execute policies and procedures.
- Strong people skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
- Flexibility with scheduling and ability to utilize substitutes when necessary.
- Ability to assess and maintain cleaning quality in accordance with contracts.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Self‑starter with the ability to work independently.
Physical:
Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and perform all duties typical to janitorial work.
