Job Summary
Responsible for monitoring workplace activities and ensuring compliance with safety protocols and procedures on the job site. Requires flexibility to co‑locate at the project location and travel as needed.
Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and manage site‑specific safety programs (LOTO, confined spaces, fall protection, etc.).
- Oversee daily activities of Project Safety Representatives and provide guidance.
- Attend safety pre‑planning meetings with project management and subcontractors to discuss high‑risk activities.
- Ensure safety training and orientations meet project/facility expectations and are performed.
- Prepare, conduct, and facilitate specialty training as required.
- Educate workers on the company’s safety policy and procedures.
- Conduct regular site safety surveys to identify hazards and promote safe work behaviors.
- Inspect machinery, equipment, and tools to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, and near‑misses.
- Participate in incident reviews and document findings in required software platforms.
- Create and deliver toolbox talks, safety reports, and bulletins based on near‑miss/good‑catch data.
- Represent the Safety Department at OSHA consultations and contractor safety meetings.
- Promote the Stretch and Flex safety program and share lessons learned.
- Coordinate safety manuals and updates with trade partners, subcontractors, and owners.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- BCSP certification; CHST or CSP required.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Risk Management, or related field preferred.
- Minimum five years of construction safety experience, preferably in the electrical industry.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to train, influence, and motivate team members.
- Demonstrated independent judgment and conflict‑management skills.
- Proficient in health‑and‑safety software platforms.
- Effective public speaking and presentation skills.
- Strong relationship‑building and collaboration abilities.
- High level of adaptability and decision‑making in dynamic environments.
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Must routinely walk on uneven surfaces, kneel, reach, stoop, crouch, or crawl; lift up to 50lb; wear hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and high‑visibility vest.
CompensationAnnual salary range: $92,160–$. Compensation determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
