As our company continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex site development projects and mentor the next generation of project leaders.
This position will be based on a site in southern Indiana.
The Project Manager plays a key leadership role within Plateau’s operations team — overseeing multiple projects, guiding project managers, and helping ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a large-scale civil construction project from pre-construction through closeout.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers.
- Ensure projects align with Plateau’s standards for safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings and strategic planning.
- Oversee project schedules, resource planning, and overall project strategy.
- Partner closely with field superintendents and operations leadership to ensure efficient execution.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor progress, safety, and production goals.
- Identify risks and proactively develop solutions to keep projects on schedule.
- Maintain full financial responsibility for assigned projects including:
- Budget management
- Cost tracking
- Forecasting
- Change order management
- Profitability performance
- Review cost reports and provide performance updates to executive leadership.
- Serve as senior point of contact for clients, developers, and general contractors.
- Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and project partners.
- Represent Plateau professionally in meetings, site visits, and project updates.
- Work closely with estimating, procurement, and field teams to ensure smooth project transitions and execution.
- Support strategic planning related to equipment utilization, manpower, and logistics.
- Assist with constructability reviews and operational planning during project startup.
- Champion Plateau’s strong safety culture across all assigned projects.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
- Promote continuous improvement in project execution and operational performance.
- 3+ years of project management experience in civil construction, site development, grading, utilities, or related field.
- Proven experience managing large-scale commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects
. - Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent work experience
. - Strong leadership experience managing project teams.
- Excellent financial and operational management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication, organizational, and client relationship skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with project management and scheduling software preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the Southeast
