Our client is a highly respected Owner’s Representative firm with an established reputation throughout the mission critical construction industry. They are trusted by some of the world's leading developers and operators to oversee the successful delivery of complex hyperscale data center projects across the United States.
With a growing project portfolio, they are seeking an experienced Senior MEP Manager to support the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale data center developments. Position OverviewThe Senior MEP Manager will be responsible for overseeing all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing aspects of hyperscale data center construction projects from pre-construction through commissioning and turnover. The successful candidate will work closely with owners, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This role requires extensive travel, with current projects located across Texas, New York, Indiana, and other key U.S. markets. A hybrid working arrangement is available depending on project requirements and phase.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee all MEP construction activities on hyperscale data center projects.
- Act as the Owner’s Representative for all MEP-related project matters.
- Review design documentation, drawings, specifications, and construction plans.
- Monitor contractor performance, schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, design teams, commissioning agents, and client stakeholders.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Support commissioning, start-up, testing, and project turnover activities.
- Conduct site inspections and regular progress reviews.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, project requirements, and industry best practices.
- Provide executive-level project reporting and stakeholder updates.
- 7+ years of MEP construction experience within the data center construction industry.
- Proven experience delivering hyperscale or large mission critical data center projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, commissioning, and critical infrastructure systems.
- Experience working on behalf of an owner, developer, owner’s representative, general contractor, or major EPC firm within the data center market.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of project controls, scheduling, budgeting, and construction management processes.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel full-time throughout the United States.
- Experience managing multiple hyperscale projects simultaneously.
- Commissioning or startup experience on mission critical facilities.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
- Data center certifications or industry-specific training are advantageous.
- Competitive base salary of $160,000 – $190,000, dependent on experience.
