Junior Estimator

We Are RAM Construction Ltd is a well-established construction company based in Eastbourne, East Sussex. We undertake a wide variety of projects, from conversions and renovations to new builds and everything in between, serving both domestic and commercial clients. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality workmanship, on-time project completion, and excellent customer service.

We are looking for a Junior Estimator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in the construction industry who has strong people and communication skills, is computer-literate, and highly punctual. The Junior Estimator will play a key role in preparing cost estimates, conducting site visits, and interacting with customers as the face of the company to provide a professional first impression.

• Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of construction projects
• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to determine costs
• Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and quotations
• Conduct site visits and surveys to assess project requirements and gather necessary data
• Interact with customers professionally, representing the company and ensuring a positive first impression
• Support the senior estimator in developing detailed bid proposals
• Maintain and update cost databases, material pricing, and labour costs
• Collaborate with the project management team to ensure budget compliance
• Ensure estimates are completed in a timely manner to meet deadlines

• Previous experience in construction, estimating, or a related field (preferred)
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Professional and customer-focused attitude
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and estimating software (preferred)
• Highly organised with great attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Punctual, reliable, and eager to learn and grow in the role

• Employees are expected to get themselves to the office
• A pool vehicle will be provided for site visits
• If using a personal vehicle during the probation period, mileage will be reimbursed
• A personal company vehicle may be provided as the role develops
