Construction Manager/ Foreman, Site Manager, Electrical Engineering
Hanwha Convergence USA (HCU) is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead on-site execution of the Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (FMCS) construction scope on a major semiconductor FAB project in Indiana or another major project site in Philadelphia, depending on assignment. Working as a specialty I&C subcontractor within the client and general/partner contractor site structure, HCU is responsible for the installation and termination of field instrumentation and raceway (the I&C package) serving the project’s central utility systems.
The Site Manager is the senior field leader accountable for overall site management - schedule, manpower, safety, quality, and client coordination - ensuring on-time, code-compliant delivery.
Site Construction Management & Field Execution (55%)
- Direct overall on-site execution of the Electrical, Instrumentation & Control construction scope (FMCS for UPW, IWT/WWT, HVAC, and power monitoring), including field instrument installation, cable, cable tray and conduit (raceway) installation, wiring, and instrumentation termination
- Develop, manage, and control the detailed site schedule, manpower plan, and daily/weekly look-ahead work plans to meet project milestones
- Lead and supervise construction managers, supervisors, foremen, and direct/subcontracted field crews
- Coordinate work sequencing and interfaces with mechanical, electrical, and process trades and with the client and general/partner contractor site organization
- Manage material receiving, staging, and installed-quantity tracking against the approved instrument and vendor lists
- Resolve field issues, RFIs, and design conflicts in coordination with the design/BIM and technical-support teams
- Manage the preparation, review, and final submittal of as-built drawings in coordination with the BIM/design team
- Serve as the primary site point of contact with the client and general/partner contractor organizations
- Prepare and deliver progress reports, look-ahead schedules, and issue logs to the Project Manager, COO, and Korea HQ
- Facilitate clear bilingual (Korean-English) communication between Korean HQ/partner teams and the U.S. local workforce, vendors, and authorities
- Escalate key commercial, schedule, and technical issues to management for timely decision-making
- Enforce site safety per OSHA and project requirements; champion a zero-incident culture
- Oversee QA/QC of installation and termination work to project specifications and applicable codes, including explosion-proof / hazardous-area requirements
- Ensure compliance with project labor, safety, site access, and documentation requirements in coordination with HCU management
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation & Control, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent field experience
- 15+ years of experience in industrial / semiconductor facility construction, with proven experience as a site manager or senior construction manager on Electrical, Instrumentation & Control (FMCS) scopes
- Hands-on knowledge of FMCS / SCADA-based utility control systems (UPW, IWT/WWT, HVAC, power monitoring) and field instrumentation (flow, level, pressure, temperature, gas/refrigerant detection, motor dampers, analyzers)
- Familiarity with raceway construction (cable, cable tray, conduit) and instrument termination, including explosion-proof / hazardous-area installation
- Strong leadership, scheduling, and field problem-solving skills; experience managing multinational and local crews and subcontractors
- Fluent in Korean and working proficiency in English (for bilingual site coordination)
- Willing to relocate to and be based at the project site in Indiana or Philadelphia, depending on assignment; able to obtain a U.S. work visa (company sponsorship provided)
- Semiconductor FAB construction experience and OSHA 30 strongly preferred
