Quanta Power Solutions is seeking a Site Manager to lead the successful execution of large-scale Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power generation projects and serve as the senior site leader responsible for all field construction activities. This role oversees the safe, efficient, and high-quality construction of gas turbine, HRSG, steam turbine, balance-of-plant, and associated infrastructure systems from mobilization through commissioning and turnover.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience managing large EPC and self-perform power generation projects, leading diverse construction teams, coordinating subcontractors, and driving schedule, quality, safety, and cost performance on complex energy projects.
What You'll Do- Lead all site construction activities for CCGT power generation projects, including civil, structural steel, mechanical, piping, boiler/HRSG, electrical, instrumentation & controls (I&C), and balance-of-plant scopes.
- Serve as the primary on-site representative for the project, coordinating with clients, engineering teams, OEMs, contractors, vendors, and commissioning personnel.
- Oversee execution of major plant equipment installation, including combustion turbines, HRSGs, steam turbines, condensers, cooling systems, transformers, and associated auxiliaries.
- Direct project scheduling, sequencing, and site logistics to ensure alignment with critical project milestones and commercial operation dates.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and environmental standards.
- Lead field supervision, construction managers, superintendents, field engineers, and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.
- Identify and mitigate site risks, resolve construction issues, and implement recovery plans to maintain schedule and budget performance.
- Monitor productivity, manpower, equipment utilization, and construction progress.
- Ensure quality control processes and turnover documentation are completed in accordance with project requirements.
- Support startup, commissioning, testing, and turnover activities in coordination with operations, OEM representatives, and commissioning teams.
- Provide regular project status updates, forecasting, and reporting to senior leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred. - 10+ years of progressive construction leadership experience with significant experience supporting utility-scale power generation projects.
- Proven experience managing field execution of CCGT, simple-cycle generation, thermal power, industrial energy, or major EPC construction projects.
- Strong understanding of power block construction, including gas turbines, HRSGs, steam turbines, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and I&C installations.
- Demonstrated success delivering large-scale industrial construction projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors, craft labor forces, and project stakeholders in fast-paced construction environments.
- Proficiency with project management and scheduling software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, and Procore.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety requirements and industry best practices.
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Excellent planning, scheduling, and organizational skills.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making in complex field environments.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships across engineering, construction, commissioning, and client teams.
- Results-oriented with a focus on safety, quality, productivity, and project execution.
- 100% travel to project sites as required.
- Ability to relocate or work from remote project locations for extended durations.
- Utility-scale CCGT power plant construction.
- GE, Siemens Energy, Mitsubishi Power, or Ansaldo turbine projects.
- HRSG installation and commissioning activities.
- Startup, commissioning, and commercial operation readiness.
- High-voltage switchyard, transmission interconnection, and balance-of-plant construction experience.
