Job Summary -
We are seeking a dependable Crackfill Crew Laborer to assist with asphalt maintenance projects including crack sealing, pavement preparation, and related site work. This hands‑on role is essential for ensuring paved surfaces are properly maintained and prepared for long‑term performance. The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities -
- Prepare pavement by cleaning cracks with compressed air, wire brushes, or heat lances
- Operate and maintain crack sealing equipment (e.g., melters, applicators, blowers)
- Load materials and supplies safely and efficiently
- Apply hot or cold crack sealant materials according to specifications
- Assist with traffic control and set up safety barricades and signage
- Maintain cleanliness of tools, equipment, and vehicles
- Follow directions from the Foreman and communicate clearly with team members
- Comply with all safety procedures and wear required PPE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Previous experience in asphalt maintenance or construction preferred but not required
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and perform physical labor in heat and outdoor conditions
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Valid driver’s license preferred; CDL is a plus
- Ability to work long hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed
- Must be willing to travel overnight when projects are outside the local area
