Michael Kinder & Sons, Inc., a fourth-generation family-owned Design-Build firm, is seeking a Construction Project Superintendent to lead onsite field operations. This role is responsible for coordinating all jobsite activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards—while exceeding client expectations. The Superintendent will supervise field personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers, and foster strong working relationships with the full project team.

- Lead site coordination, ensuring layout, access, and logistics are optimized for safety and productivity.
- Maintain site cleanliness and organization, enforcing standards across all trades and subcontractors.
- Resolve site-level conflicts and constraints, proactively adjusting plans to maintain workflow.
- Ensure work meets project specs and standards, coordinating with subs and PMs to resolve issues.
- Lead formal quality inspections and punch list walks, documenting issues and driving timely corrective action.
- Review and approve work progress before key milestones to prepare for inspections and turnover.
- Maintain look-ahead schedule and communicate schedule updates to project team and stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate schedule risks, adjusting sequencing and manpower as needed.
- Coordinate scheduled with subcontractors to ensure readiness.
- Monitor labor, equipment, and material usage, ensuring alignment with budget targets or approvals.
- Prevent rework and inefficiencies through proactive coordination and quality oversight.
- Identify scope changes or potential cost impacts, communicating with project management.
- Ensure site-wide compliance through daily inspections & correcting unsafe behavior.
- Coordinate & document safety training including toolbox talks.
- Lead incident response and reporting, including initial investigation, documentation, and communication.
- Represent the company professionally during client interactions w/ transparency and responsiveness
- Communicate progress, challenges, and solutions, ensuring client confidence during OAC meetings.
- Ensure site presentation meets client expectations, especially during walkthroughs or visits.

- Provide leadership through team building communications, motivation, confidence, good judgement, and listening to others
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
- Support and assist as needed by all team members in their roles.
- Ensure that all parties know the importance of safety on the project and educate as needed.
- Minimum of 10 years of commercial/industrial construction experience
- Experience as lead superintendent on projects with value of $3M or more.
- Union carpenter or willing to join the union.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Ability to read, understand and execute construction work as defined in the drawings, specifications, addenda, submittals, technical manuals, and product/material installation instructions.
