Job Description
The remote Substitute Middle School Math Teacher will be based at our High School campus and is a highly qualified, state‑certified educator responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment. The role involves providing instruction, support, and guidance, managing the learning process, and focusing on students’ individual needs. The teacher will monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system, work closely with students and parents/learning coaches, and travel occasionally for school functions such as state testing.
The position is fully remote, requiring independence, 40+ hours per week, and a professional home office environment.

Hourly RateAround $21 per hour. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. Salary is not guaranteed and may vary based on geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions.
Start DateImmediate. This is a contract/temporary hourly position.
Essential Functions- Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
- Commit to personalizing learning for all students.
- Demonstrate a belief in all students’ ability to succeed and meet high expectations.
- Differentiates instruction based on student mastery level.
- Augments course content per prescribed policies, using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under guidance from principal and coach.
- Maintain a grade book, ensuring academic integrity, and manage student placement and promotion decisions.
- Prepare students for high‑stakes standardized tests.
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families; regularly communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents promptly.
- Support learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues, and basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom environment aligned with academy policies.
- Travel as required (approximately once per month or up to 20% of the time) for face‑to‑face professional development, student testing, and other school‑related activities.

- Work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data, using it to drive instructional decisions.
- Receptive to receiving coaching regularly from administrators and teacher trainers.
- Adapt to change and embrace it to ensure excellent student outcomes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
- Experience working with the proposed age group.
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
- Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or in a brick‑and‑mortar environment.
- Experience with online learning platforms.
