Willow Creek Middle School is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. The FACS teacher will deliver engaging, hands‑on instruction to 6th and 7th grade students across a range of topics including food and nutrition, interior design, and fashion/textiles, and will teach an 8th grade Culinary Exploration course. The ideal candidate will create an interactive learning environment that builds practical life skills, creativity, collaboration, and responsible decision‑making.

• Plan and deliver standards‑aligned instruction in middle school Family and Consumer Sciences courses
• Teach 6th and 7th grade FACS courses covering topics such as:
  • Food preparation and nutrition
  • Interior design and housing concepts
  • Fashion, textiles, and basic sewing skills
• Teach 8th grade Culinary Exploration, including:
  • Food safety and sanitation
  • Culinary techniques and kitchen skills
  • Meal planning and nutrition awareness
• Design and implement hands‑on lab experiences and project‑based learning activities
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom and kitchen/lab environment
• Instruct and enforce proper use of kitchen equipment, tools, and materials
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs and abilities
• Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative measures
• Integrate real‑world applications, career awareness, and life skills into instruction
• Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning opportunities
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
• Manage inventory and assist with ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment

• Valid Indiana teaching license (or ability to obtain) in Family and Consumer Sciences or related area
• Appropriate middle school grade‑level certification or endorsement
