Substitute Teacher

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable individual to join the Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation as a Substitute Teacher. The role is essential in providing continuity of education for students in the absence of their regular classroom teachers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for education, the ability to engage students, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.

• Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of instruction.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
• Facilitate student learning and engagement through various instructional strategies.
• Provide feedback to students on their performance and behavior.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents as needed.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as taking attendance and managing classroom materials.
• Adapt to different grade levels and subject areas as required.
• Uphold school policies and procedures, including those related to student conduct and safety.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field preferred; or equivalent experience.
• Valid Indiana teaching license or substitute teaching permit.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage classroom dynamics and foster a positive learning environment.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of various classrooms and students.
• Commitment to professionalism and ethical standards in education.
• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is a plus.
• Background check clearance in accordance with school corporation policies.
