The IUP College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) invites applicants for a part-time temporary faculty teaching position in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Principles and Practices (NMM/OPP) beginning in the Fall of 2026. Faculty members in the Department of Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (NMM) support the Chair and work on the development, delivery, and assessment of the longitudinal 4-year OPP/NMM curriculum (including osteopathic integration), as well as teach hands-on in the NMM/OPP department both on campus and at the clinical sites, as well as the primary care department, as appropriate.

Faculty will support the development of research and scholarly activity related to Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (NMM) and be involved in service to the University.

Essential Duties:

• Develop curriculum and course/system curricular objectives for coursework in the proposed COM, with an emphasis on integrating core NMM/OPP related content into clinically oriented courses, including linking course and programmatic objectives
• Develop the curriculum for the NMM/OPP longitudinal coursework throughout all 4-years of the COM curriculum
• Coordinate the integration of NMM/OPP related content into clinical system courses in Years 1-2 and clinical clerkship syllabi in Years 3-4
• Develop, deliver, integrate, and implement COM pre-clinical NMM/OPP curriculum and student assessment measures including assisting the Chair of Primary Care with the standardized patient and simulated patient encounter programs housed within the Clinical Skills curriculum
• Assists the Chair in planning, developing, and evaluating the NMM curriculum in years 1-4, as assigned
• Participates in the instruction and supervision of medical students at all phases of training including didactics, small groups, clinical cases, clinical and NMM skill labs, clinical patient care, simulation training, procedure, task training, and standardized patient encounters
• Mentors and advise students
• Assist in development of syllabi, coursework learning objectives and curricula for clinical clerkships, integrating NMM/OPP into each of the clinical disciplines
• Contributes to the planning, development, and evaluation of courses and the academic program as a whole and integrating NMM/OPP into systems courses, and clinical rotations
• Assists the Chair in leading Department meetings
• Meets regularly with the Primary Care Department Chair, the Associate Dean of Preclinical Affairs, and the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and GME to provide updates on the NMM curriculum and longitudinal needs in other areas of the University
• Support in planning and delivering ongoing faculty development activities based on curricular interests and expertise
• Participate in curriculum development, delivery, assessment and quality improvement as a part of the COM's ongoing quality improvement and assessment program
