West Noble High School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate English Learner (EL) Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with classroom teachers and the EL staff to provide instructional, linguistic, and academic support to non-native English-speaking students. The ideal candidate is passionate about student success, culturally responsive, and eager to foster an inclusive environment where all students can thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instructional Support: Provide one-on-one and small-group instructional support to English Learners across core academic subjects (English, Math, Science, Social Studies).
  • Classroom Assistance: Collaborate with general education and EL teachers to adapt instructional materials, coursework, and classroom activities to meet individual student language proficiency levels.
  • Language Facilitation: Assist students with reading comprehension, writing skills, vocabulary building, and conversational English development.
  • Student Monitoring: Track student progress, stay attentive to academic or linguistic challenges, and regularly communicate insights to supervising teachers.
  • Assessment Support: Assist in administering standard classroom and language proficiency assessments (e.g., WIDA) as directed.
  • Cultural & Social Support: Help create a welcoming, supportive school environment that values cultural diversity and helps students navigate high school expectations and school culture.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required (Associate’s degree or relevant college coursework preferred).
  • Must be Highly Qualified or able to complete necessary training.
  • Knowledge or experience working with special education or English language learners (ELL) is a plus.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in a second language (e.g., Spanish) is highly desirable, but not strictly required.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to promoting equity and inclusion in education.
