Fostering Careers Ameri Corps Members serve in community organizations, workforce programs, postsecondary settings, or partner sites across Indiana. Members provide direct support to young adults through career coaching, workforce readiness activities, and relationship-based support. This is an entry-level professional development opportunity designed for individuals interested in workforce development, education, youth services, or nonprofit work.
Member DutiesProvides workforce readiness support by assisting participants with résumé development, job applications, interview preparation, career exploration, and goal setting. Facilitates workforce readiness workshops and activities. Supports financial capability through budgeting and financial literacy education, connects participants to community resources, and helps reduce barriers related to transportation, housing, food access, and employment. Builds positive, professional relationships that promote confidence, accountability, and progress toward career goals while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
Participates in Ameri Corps trainings, supervision meetings, and professional development activities. Collaborates with supervisors, staff, and community partners and represents Ameri Corps and Foster Success professionally in all settings.
