Manager - Piping

Wipro Water is a Business Unit of Wipro Infrastructure Engineering (a division of Wipro Enterprises Ltd) headquartered in Mumbai. Wipro Water offers Complete Solutions in Water & Waste Water Treatment, O&M, Desalination, Sustainability Consulting, Recycle & Reuse, Sludge Treatment and Source Analysis.

The incumbent will lead and manage the piping engineering function for water & waste water treatment plant projects, ensuring high-quality design deliverables, timely execution, resource planning, and adherence to standards. The role requires strong expertise in piping layout design, 3D modelling, and engineering of RO/UF skids, along with team management capabilities.

B. Tech / B.E. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in piping design for water treatment plants
• Minimum 3 years of team management experience is preferred

• Piping Layout Design & Checking
  :
  Expertise in developing and reviewing piping layouts for water treatment facilities
• 3D Design Tools
  :
  Proficiency in Auto Plant 3D, PDMS, or equivalent software for piping design and modelling
• Specifications Development
  :
  Strong knowledge of piping and painting specifications, standards, and codes
• Isometrics & Skid Design
  :
  Experience in piping isometrics, RO & UF skid piping design, and DM exchanger frontals
• BOM/BOQ Preparation
  :
  Skilled in preparation and verification of piping Bill of Materials (BOM) and Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
• Equipment Layouts
  :
  Ability to design and check equipment layouts
• Process Equipment Knowledge
  :
  Familiarity with pumps, valves, UF, RO, and other water treatment process equipment
• Competence in planning, scheduling, and monitoring for piping engineering teams
• Strong people management skills with experience in mentoring and supervising engineers and draftsmen

• Lead and manage the complete execution of piping engineering deliverables in line with project schedules, productivity targets, and quality standards
• Monitor and review daily work progress of subordinates, ensuring adherence to design specifications and project requirements
• Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize designs and reduce costs without compromising quality
• Ensure proper documentation, version control, and compliance with project and client standards
• Prepare and validate Bill of Materials (BOM) and piping & painting specifications for projects
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (process, civil, electrical, instrumentation) to ensure seamless integration of piping systems
• Conduct design reviews, resolve technical queries, and provide guidance on complex engineering issues
• Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, ASTM, IS, etc.) relevant to piping design
