Commissioning & Start-Up Engineering Experienced Professional (f/m/d) 80 - 100%
In this role, you will plan, prepare, and coordinate all pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and start‑up activities through to successful handover. You will develop and maintain commissioning plans, schedules, manuals, test procedures, and documentation, ensuring all activities meet customer, quality, and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with engineering, project management, and third‑party partners to resolve technical issues, obtain required approvals, and secure customer acceptance.
Working independently, you will apply your technical expertise to drive safe, efficient, and compliant commissioning execution while contributing to continuous improvement and supporting the wider project team.
- Carry out testing and commissioning of control and relay panels and substation automation systems across various locations in Singapore
- Execute commissioning activities safely in line with Hitachi Energy and customer safety standards, reporting hazards and near misses
- Ensure a positive customer experience and manage customer relationships professionally
- Perform commissioning according to documented processes and checklists, resolving open points and securing customer sign‑off
- Report site progress and planning and ensure efficient use of commissioning assets such as test kits and tools
- Hand over marked‑up drawings for as‑built preparation and final submission to the customer
- Identify and monitor risks in your area of responsibility, ensuring stakeholders remain informed
- Provide guidance to associate commissioning engineers and coordinate tasks with junior staff or small
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical field
- Several years of hands‑on experience in commissioning protection, control, or substation automation systems
- Solid knowledge of protection relays, substation communication protocols (e.g., IEC 61850), and related testing tools
- Strong understanding of safety standards and compliance requirements in utility or industrial environments
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Ability to interact confidently with customers, engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently at customer sites
